Fulbright Nehru Fellowships for Masters studies in US

The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships for leadership development are designed for outstanding young Indians to pursue a Master’s degree programme at selected US colleges and universities in the areas of arts and culture management including heritage conservation and museum studies, business administration, communication studies, conflict resolution, economics, environment, public administration, urban and regional planning and women’s studies. The fellowship will provide J-1 visa support, round-trip airfare from fellows home city to the host institution in the US, funding for tuition and fees (USIEF funding may not cover all costs), living and related costs, and accident and sickness coverage as per US government guidelines. These fellowships are for one to two years.
Requirements: Completed the equivalent of a US Bachelor’s degree, from a recognised Indian university with at least 55% marks. Applicants should either possess a four-year Bachelor’s degree or a completed Master’s degree, if the Bachelor’s degree is of less than four years’ duration; have at least three years’ full time (paid or voluntary) professional or work experience relevant to their proposed field of study; demonstrate experience in leadership and community service; should not have another degree from a US university or be enrolled in a US degree programme; and preferably be in the age group of 25-30 years and committed to return and contribute to their communities

Research Scholarship for Women Candidates

L’oreal Corporate Foundation in association with UNESCO is awarding scholarship for women candidates. The field of study should be life sciences. Candidates must already be engaged in pursuing research at the doctoral or post doctoral level in one or allied fields of life sciences including biology, biochem, biotech, agriculture, medicine, pharmacy and physiology. Preference is given to non cosmetic researches. Candidates must be below 35 years old.  The amount of fellowship will be USD$ 20,000 per year. Research time will be one year with the possibility of extension of additional one year.

Study Abroad Research Scholarship

POLIS OVERSEAS RESEARCH STUDENTS AWARD
One full fee scholarship available for new research students undertaking full-time study over three years leading to a PhD at the School of Politics and International Studies, University of Leeds. Students already registered for research degrees are excluded. Awards must be taken up on 1 October 2010. The award will cover academic fees at the overseas rate. No additional allowances for travel or research costs.
Requirements:
These awards are only available to applicants liable to pay academic fees at international fee rate. Applicants must hold at least a UK upper second class honours degree or equivalent plus an MA or MSc at Merit level or equivalent. Jayanti Vigyan Sancharak Fellowship

Recognizing science communicators with uniformly brilliant academic record and supports innovative work in
selected scientific institutions/ universities/ S and T based voluntary organizations under the guidance of a senior science communicator. Twenty Rajat Jayanti Vigyan Sancharak Fellowships are offered by Rashtriya Vigyan Evam Pradyogiki Sanchar Parishad, Department of Science and Technology. Duration of the fellowship will be one year and will comprise honorarium of Rs 12,000 per month (Rs 16,000 in case of PhD) and an annual contingency grant of Rs 30,000 and travel grant of Rs 15,000. Mentors will receive Rs 20,000 a year.
Who can apply?
Candidates below 35 years (as on December 31, 2010) (relaxable by five years for women) must possess a graduation or higher degree in science, engineering, medical science, agriculture, information technology, mass communication, etc from a recognised university.
