Dr. S Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship

Dr. S Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) by the University Grant Commission (www.ugc.ac.in) for a duration of three years(non extendable) is to provide an opportunity to carry out advanced studies and research in humanities and social sciences in Indian universities and colleges. The amount of financial assistance would be Rs.18,000 to Rs.22,000 per month with annual increase of Rs.1,000 per month or Rs.16,000 per month as bridging fellowship (those who have submitted their PhD thesis) and contingency or Rs. 30,000 per annum for three years(fixed). Candidates below 35 years of age who have either received a PhD degree or submitted their PhD thesis

National Media Fellowship

National Media Fellowship programme by National foundation for India (www.nfi.org.in) are for mid career journalism to research and publish articles and photo essays on issues of importance to ordiany Indians. The fellowship awarded by the National Foundation for India is Rs. One lakh for journalist working in any of the regional and national dailies and associated media with 5 to 7 years or professional experience. Upper age limit is 40 years.

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC/ST

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scheme (RGNFS) is for SC/ST students to undertake advanced studies and research in science, engineering & technology, humanities and social science in Indian universities and colleges. Around 3% are reserved for physically handicapped candidates who belong to the SC/ST categories as per the government norms.  The tenure of the fellowship isinitially for two years. Fellowship in science, Humanities and social science is at Rs.12,000/- per month for initial two years(JRF)/contingency allowance of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for initial two years; Rs. 14,000 per month for fellowship in engineering & Technology, Rs.12,000 per annum as contingency.
