The Chevening HSBC Scholarship offers three full scholarships for Indian citizens towards one-year Master courses at any accredited UK University. The priority subjects are banking, economics, sustainability and environmental studies. These are full scholarships covering tuition fees, flights to and from the UK and a contribution toward living costs. Requirements: Indian national with a valid Indian passport, of outstanding academic ability with a good first degree (a minimum of upper second class) or equivalent from a recognised Indian university, fluent in written and spoken English, wishing to study a Masters course at a UK institution for no more than 12 months. Applicants must identify a suitable Masters programme and apply for a course beginning in September / October 2010 and secure admission. These scholarships are offered by Rio Tinto plc, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and CEPMLP as part of their partnership activities which acknowledge the importance of contributing to sustainable mineral resources development worldwide.
The scholarships are for the study of the one year Masters of Law (LLM) mineral law and policy at the University of Dundees Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP).
The scholarship covers both academic tuition fees and living expenses for 12 months.
Requirements: Applicants should hold a degree of an equivalent standard to at least a good UK second class honours degree, display intellectual ability and leadership potential, be a resident of India and have a proven track record and potential to rise to positions of influence and be able to demonstrate a high level of English language competence (minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).
